I've printed several color and B&W prints and about all I can say is WOW!. Beautiful color. Neutral B&W. Excellent shadow detail. If only the ink cost less so I would not be tempted to use generics. This is especially true since you waste a lot of ink swapping between matte and photo black. One feature that I've been wanting is the roll paper adapter. I have several panorama photos that I've been waiting to print and my last printer could not handle them. If you are a snapshot photographer, this printer is a waste of money. If you want large prints and your camera equipment has the capability, then this is the printer for you.

Strengths: 1. Fast, fast, fast... and Image quality doesn't suffer for it! 2. It's archival quality. 3. Prints B&W exponentially better than the R2200.
Weaknesses: That darned eight ink system with nine inks...
Summary: I do photo archiving and I didn't even bother purchasing the R2200 after seeing how wierd the B&W pigment inks reflected from the paper. The R2400 prints B&W prints more clearly than my Epson 1280 (Which is an outstanding printer in it's class). Plus, the R2400 uses the archival pigment inks, it prints with higher resolutions and I can make three 13X19 prints in the same time as I can print one 8.5X11 on the 1280. Excellent choice for professionals who don't need to use a format wider than 13".


UPDATE - Spend some time to get your monitor's color set up to work with your printer. I have mine set to sRGB. Also, make sure to use the correct ICC profile for the paper you are using. By doing this, your printed results will most closely match what you see on the screen. Also, be sure to turn your printer off when you are done using it for the day. I have found this reduces nozzle clogging.
